Bio
Dr. Afeworki Kidane (pronounced “AHF-wurk-ee KEY-don-e”) has been practicing since 1995, with a focus on Internal Medicine and clinical interests in hypertension, diabetes mellitus and joint disease.
Dr. Kidane completed his undergraduate study at Alderson Broaddus University in Philippi, WV, where he was enrolled in the Allied Health Sciences PA program. He attended medical school at West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg and fulfilled an Internal Medicine residency at Riverview Medical Center in Detroit, MI. After residency, Dr. Kidane did a geriatric fellowship at Hurley Medical Center, Flint, MI.
Dr. Kidane is certified by the American Board of Osteopathic Medicine and is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, AOA, American College of Osteopathic Association ACOI, Arizona Osteopathic Medical Association AOMA. Additionally, he is certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
Dr. Kidane is fluent in two languages besides English: Tigrinya, an Eritrean language, and Amharic, an Ethiopian language. Outside of work, he enjoys hiking
