Bio
Family nurse practitioner Diane Trkulja-Castro (pronounced Die ANN / Tur kue la - Cast roh ) cares for the health and wellbeing of adults, teens, and children. Her areas of clinical interest include wellness, disease prevention, mental health and women's health. Diane began nursing in 2009 as a labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum nurse (LDRP RN), and she became an advance practice registered nurse (APRN) in 2017.
Diane earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science and health promotion from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, before earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, IN. Diane earned her master’s degree of nursing in primary care with a family nurse practitioner specialization from Indiana Wesleyan University. She is board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She is also certified by the American Heart Association in CPR/AED and first aid.
Diane is a member of the Society of Nurses in Advanced Practice (SNAP), Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma) and the Coalition of Advanced Practice Registered Nurses of Indiana (CAPNI). She has served as an adjunct nursing instructor at Valparaiso University and at Ball State University in Muncie, IN.
