Bio
Nurse Practitioner Brittany Atkinson (pronounced “Brit-Nee AT-kin-sun”) is focused on Family Medicine (without Obstetrics). Outside of her area of expertise, she has a range of clinical interests including pediatric health, women’s health, primary care and pediatric psychiatry. She began practicing in 2021.
Brittany completed her undergraduate nursing study at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina. She earned a Master of Science in Nursing at Simmons University in Boston, MA. She also holds an Associate in Nursing from Sandhills Community College in Pinehurst, NC. Brittany is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and holds certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). She led both the customer and employee satisfaction initiatives at Indian Health Services in Shiprock, NM, received the Best Nurse award, and was nominated for a DAISY award.
Brittany likes to read, listen to e-books, watch movies (horror and sci-fi are her favorites) and spend long stretches of time at the beach. She is married with four children, a beagle and a German shepherd, and loves spending time with her family and friends. Trying new, authentic ethnic food is another favorite pastime.
