Hemalatha (Hema) Iyer (pronounced Hee ma / I yer), MD, is dedicated to the wellbeing of her patients. She started practicing in 1992 with clinical interest in preventive care. Dr. Iyer treats adults.
Dr. Iyer earned her undergraduate degree in life sciences in India before attending medical school at the University of Madras in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. She completed her residency at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston with a focus in internal medicine. Dr. Iyer has previous experience working in hospice and palliative care. In addition to English, she is fluent in Tamil and Hindi.
On a personal note, Dr. Iyer enjoys painting with water colors, cooking and writing.
