Jennifer Abalos, DNP, APRN, FNP-C

Jennifer Caling Abalos, who goes by Jenny Abalos (pronounced “JEN-nee AH-bah-los”), is a doctorally-prepared nurse practitioner focused on family medicine. Her wide range of clinical interests include health promotion and disease prevention of patients across life span: infants, adolescents, adults and seniors. She began practicing in 2008.

Jenny completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing at St. Paul University in Manila, Philippines (Cum Laude) and received a Master of Arts in Nursing major in Maternal and Child Nursing from the University of Santo Tomas in Manila, Philippines (Magna Cum Laude) . She earned a Family Nurse Practitioner’s Post-Master’s Certificate from Texas Woman’s University in Dallas and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Chamberlain University based in Chicago, Illinois (with high distinction). In the interest of patient safety, Jenny completed a quality improvement project on Antibiotic Stewardship in Urgent Care.

Jenny has worked in different hospitals in Texas as an RN in a medical-surgical unit, post- partum, pediatric intensive care unit ( ICU), neonatal ICU , and cardiac ICU among others. She has worked in the Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead, London, UK as an RN and traveled extensively in Europe. She is a certified Department of Transportation (DOT) medical examiner and holds membership in the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Texas Nurse Practitioners and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, among others. She believes in shared governance that integrates core values and beliefs in practice to achieve quality care. She is bilingual with Pilipino/Tagalog as her native tongue.

When she isn’t working, Jenny spends time with her husband and 3 children who love trying new restaurants and outdoor activities. Jenny loves nature and the beach!
