Luis Guerra, MD

Luis Guerra (pronounced L oo EE s / G EH rr ah), MD, has been caring for the wellbeing of adults since 1989. Dr. Guerra's areas of clinical interests include preventive medicine, geriatric medicine, and palliative and hospice care.

After earning his undergraduate degree in pre-medicine, Dr. Guerra attended medical school at Ponce Health Sciences University in Ponce, PR, Dr. Guerra completed his residency in internal medicine at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso, TX. He is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM).

Dr. Guerra is a member of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine (AAHPM). He is certified by the Hospice Medical Director Certification Board (HMDCB) and has served as a hospice medical director. He is also certified in geriatric medicine and hospice and palliative medicine by the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM). In addition, Dr. Guerra is a preceptor for students enrolled in the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center Physician Assistant Studies program in Midland, TX.

In addition to English, he is fluent in Spanish.

When he's not helping patients, Dr. Guerra enjoys music, reading and traveling and spending time with his adult children.
