Raul Tovar Castro, DO

Raul Tovar Castro, DO, has been practicing Internal Medicine since 2019. He has a wide range of clinical interests including endocrinology, rheumatology, cardiology, preventive medicine, pulmonary, gastrointestinal, nephrology, and allergy & immunology.

Dr. Castro completed his Bachelor of Arts in Biology and went on to study at the University of North Texas Health Science Center for his D.O. degree. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. Dr. Castro is board certified by the American Osteopathic Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of several professional associations including the Texas Medical Association, the American Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, and the American College of Physicians. He is fluent in both English and Spanish, which allows him to serve a diverse patient population.

Dr. Castro is very family-oriented and spends a lot of his personal time caring for his aging parents. He is also a proud pet parent to two energetic pups. In his free time, he enjoys staying active, trying out new sports, and challenging himself with DIY home projects. He has a deep love for travel and enjoys exploring new cities and learning about different cultures. He believes that staying curious and open to new experiences is important not just in life, but also in how he approaches medicine.
