Bio
Physician assistant Shannon Costello is committed to helping her Village Medical patients address immediate health needs so they may live better, longer lives. As a local Arizona resident, Shannon particularly enjoys assisting her own community in achieving their health goals every day.
Shannon comes from a family of healthcare professionals. She knew early in her studies that she wanted to pursue medicine as a physician assistant. Shannon completed her bachelor’s degree in biology, with an emphasis as a PA, from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix. She then attended Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA, to study as a PA and complete her Master of Science Physician Assistant (MSPA) degree. During this time, Shannon gained specialized training in cardiology, rheumatology and orthopedics. She also received the Western University East West Scholarship in recognition of her volunteer work and commitment providing care to the underserved.
Today, Shannon's clinical interests include preventive medicine, geriatrics and sports medicine. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA).
When Shannon is not working with patients, she’s a soccer enthusiast. In fact, she played Division I soccer in college. She also enjoys hiking, running marathons and spending time with her large Irish family.
