Makayla Sauer, FNP-C

Makayla Sauer, FNP-C, is a Family Nurse Practitioner who started her nursing career in 2019 and transitioned into her FNP practice in 2025. Her areas of clinical interest span family practice, prevention, women's health, cardiology, and diabetes.

Makayla earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) at the University of Texas at Austin and later pursued her Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) in the Family Nurse Practitioner program at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She holds certifications from the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). She is also a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the Sigma Delta Tau Honor Society.

Makayla began her nursing journey in a Step Down Unit in Midland, Texas. She then moved to a Heart Failure Unit in Houston, where she cared for patients with LVADs, heart transplants, and lung transplants. Later, she transitioned to a surgical center in Houston while pursuing her FNP.

Outside of work, Makayla loves to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoys neighborhood walks with her husband, baking, cooking, and working on creative projects. Traveling and trying new foods are other favorite pastimes. She is also working towards learning Spanish to better serve and connect with more members of her community.
